The iPad Pro by Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has been rumored to be featuring a 12.2 inch LCD screen display which is going to be thicker than the newly released iPad Air 2 and would probably feature a built in stereo audio by Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL). It is possible that this new iPad would be released in 2015 during the third quarter. The main thing to focus on is what sort of chip Apple would install in this iPad. This bit of news was released by Macotakara which also suggested that this iPad will come head to head with Surface Pro 3 by Microsoft Inc.

So, it can be assumed that this certain device will then give the user the experience of a blend between a pc and a tablet. But the CEO of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Tim Cook has been very critical of this move by Microsoft of turning PCs into tablets and vice versa. This means that if Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has actually made an iPad Pro which is unlike Microsoft’s tablets and the previous iPads, it is going to be something big. The iPad Pro would undoubtedly be more expensive than the iPad Air however.

This would provide Apple (NASDAQ:AAP) with the freedom to use a display which has a far better quality than the iPad Air. This would mean the engineers at Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) have to come up with a better and far more complex processor. Moreover, given that the model for such an ipad Pro is prone to be fundamentally more advanced than what the ipad Air and ipad Mini were, Apple may utilize a strategy of a system-on-chip for this particular iPad as opposed to reusing the chip that goes into the iPad Air.

In the event that everything goes as planned, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) may have the capacity to construct its cutting edge group of processers on a 16-nanometer or a 14-nanometer from either Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE:TSM) or Samsung (NASDAQOTH:SSNLF) respectively. In any case, in view of what Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) did this year with the A8X and A8 SoC, Apple evidently put in two cores of CPU  and one of the most effective graphic IPs by Imagine Technologies’  (NASDAQOTH:IGNMF) into the iPhone-centered chip .

The ipad-centered chip now gets three CPU centers and the best processor from Imagination Technologies. If we are to assume that the next chip to get installed in the iPhone is called A9 and the one to be installed in the iPad is called A9X, then Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is likely to do one of three simple things. The first one being that Apple could basically take the CPU and A9x and design their graphic cores to run at higher frequencies.

This way the iPad would definitely feature a battery that is bigger than that of IPad Air. Second thing that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) could do is that it could assemble a custom chip that would offer a considerably bigger graphic core just like the one Imagination Technologies had devised. Or Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) could do nothing and utilize A9x without making any significant changes.
