Tech Stocks in the Spotlight – Microsoft Corporation, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK)

According to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) it will soon start its new plant that will be based in Arizona, Mesa; this venture will produce at least 2,000 jobs and the purpose of the plant is to manufacture Apple’s products components. This new move by Apple is being built to give a boost to manufacturing in the US.

Apple paid GT Advanced Technologies Inc., $578 million for smartphone equipment supply to the new facility. According to a statement by GT Advanced Technologies Inc. machines use sapphire to manufacture material which is now being extensively used to cover home buttons and camera lenses in smartphones.

In another tech news, the decision to choose a new CEO for Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) by the company is not that far. According to Reuters, there are five prime candidates for the position. The list of candidates also includes a few outside names as well. Reliable sources claim that this list of five candidates include former CEO of Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK), Stephen Elop, current chief of Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) Alan Mulally alongwith three candidates from within the company.  CEO of Skype, Tony Bates along with Staya Ndella has also made the list.

In an interview with Financial Times, Bill Gates, Chairman Microsoft said that he would be working very closely with the company’s new CEO; however, it is yet unknown if Gates was asked by the company to train Microsoft’s next CEO.

In the last session, shares of Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) went down by -0.65%, shares of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) went down by -0.25% ($525.45) and shares of  Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) went up by 1.95% ($36.64).
