Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) Expands UK Cloud Platform Capabilities
Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) has debuted its cloud platform as a service (PaaS) in the UK, broadening the service provided from the organization’s Slough datacenter facility in England.
The facility presently serves more than 500 UK as well as global clients with infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and software as a service (SaaS) fine-tuned for public sector customers and private corporations.
The Slough datacenter has been running for two years mainly implementing Oracle SaaS and IaaS products. As per senior vice-president at Oracle, Dermot O’Kelly, it offers Exadata machines for folk who require extreme computing.
The new PaaS capabilities will permit Oracle customers that are mandated to store their data in the UK to quickly test, develop as well as deploy applications in the Oracle public cloud at less cost without affecting security. Also, the UK customers will have the choice of operating Oracle platform and infrastructure services behind their own firewalls.
Oracle’s president of product development, Thomas Kurian, said that cloud services will play a big role in assisting customers rapidly leverage new digital features required to remain competitive.
