The 6 inches Nokia Bandit, Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK)’s first Windows Phone with HD 1080p is set to be launched in the market soon; it is accompanied with Lumia 625 that features a display screen of 4.7 inches and resolution of 480×800. Rumor has it that Bandit will be introduced before this year ends.
It is believed that Bandit will be more than just a phone; it will be first HD 1080p phone powered by Windows and a processor with quad-core.
In fact before the arrival of this new phone in the market Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) will also be playing its part in improving the upcoming device. It is believed that the phone will be introduced after Microsoft brings forward its GDR3 update that will be for phones powered by Windows 8. This update will provide additional support to Bandit’s HD features and its quad-core processor. The GDR3 will also allow additional updates, such as driving mode, rotation lock and another column featuring live tiles etc.
It is believed that Bandit will be the first device of its kind; it is expected that similar devices with HD display will be introduced by Samsung and HTC.
Nokia Bandit will be a 6 inch device that will act as a phablet (phone + tablet); it is expected to feature a rear camera of 20-megapixels; it is also believed that the camera will be accommodated by using the Lumia 925’s features of real panel. According to different sources Bandit will be thin and extremely lightweight with a body of polycarbonate.
This latest and much awaited Bandit is undergoing tests at AT&T (NYSE:T) and will be released in the market after achieving a satisfying status.
In the premarket, shares of Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) dove down by -2.18% ($4.04) whereas shares of AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) jumped up by 0.33%. Shares of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) was also up by 0.31%.
