Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX)’s portfolio of big shows will continue swelling in 2016. The second season of Jessica Jones is among the lineup. Other titles getting fresh seasons are Orange is the New Black and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt among others.
Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) is in the process is improving its programming as the company expands into more global markets. As the company works to bring original programming to market, it is also keen to continue impressing viewers with the shows they already like. That explains why its 2016 premiers include a number of follow-up seasons to popular titles.
Jessica Jones reloaded
Netflix is planning to release Season 2 of Marvel’s Jessica Jones later this year. It isn’t surprising that Netflix is working on second installment of the comedy considering how the initial installment has received widespread accolades.
The Season 2 of Jessica Jones will see the superhero character reconstructing her life as well as career along the lines of a private investigator. The setting of the Jessica Jones Season 2 is a neighborhood in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
Orange is the New Black renewed
Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) is also hard at work to release the fourth installment of Orange is the New Black, which is expected to premier on June 17, 2016. Before the release of the fourth Season of the popular Orange is the New Black, Netflix will have debuted Season 2 of both Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Grace and Frankie in April and May, respectively.
Fresh content in the offing
Besides follow-up seasons to popular shows, Netflix also plans a number of fresh releases. Among them is Flaked, which is a comedy show that is expected to premier on March 11, 2016. Flaked is about a character known as Chip, who lives in Venice, California. Will Arnett, a five-time Emmy Award nominee, plays Chip in the show Flaked, which captures the lead character’s intrigues with his best friend.
Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX)’s other original show for 2016 is The Ranch, which is also a comedy series about a young man reuniting with his family after more than a decade following a failed pro-football career. The Ranch is expected to premier on April 1, 2016.
