Despite being the most popular cell phone brand in many countries, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is planning to divert all the focus away from Nokia’s (NYSE:NOK) name in the latest cell phone range: the Lumia Series. To accomplish this Microsoft will now introduce their latest Lumia 535 under their own name. There are a large number of people who still believe that buying latest cellphones for the sake of better specifications is not worth it.
They still prefer budget phones over expensive options. In fact, cheap mobile phone technology is still a huge business in many developing markets and poses a great threat in the distant future. Keeping this in mind, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) has planned to introduce their latest smartphone the “Lumia 535”. They plan to make this handset successful through latest technology and the lowest possible costs.
This seems like the right thing to do during a competition like this. Currently Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) has four different types of cheap cellphones. This includes Lumia 500, Lumia 600, Lumia 700 and the Lumia 800. While the Lumia 535 is the second low budget phone introduced by Nokia (NYSE:NOK). The Lumia 535 offers a 5 inch HD display, a fast 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM and an 8 GB internal memory.
The phone comes with a 5 MP front facing camera which most devices in the same price range lack to offer. Altogether the device is much better as compared to its price. However, the company has not installed the LTE and NFC technology to keep the budget in hand. The plans to keep the device’s price to $130 will ensure Microsoft’s stability in the market. One thing is for sure, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is not an amateur in this field and they have an idea of what they are doing.
The phone still incorporates Nokia’s (NYSE:NOK) signature bright plastic back cover and rounded edges. It comes with a removable back cover and a replaceable Li-ion battery with a removable SD card slot, which is a great benefit in this competitive market. Looking at the 535’s design the large internal storage plus the expandable storage option provides a sigh of relief for people seeking low budget and long term cell phones.
The phone is believed to stay in the market for the next cycle so it has be as customizable as possible. For the software, Nokia (NYSE:NOK) Lumia 535 comes with One and Cortana and Microsoft’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) One Drive Storage. The device also comes with Office 365 providing the ease of Microsoft Office to people on the go. Moreover, all the preloaded apps will come with a premium subscription to provide an excellent user experience.
However, the phone is a bit slow when it comes to usage; the 1.2 GHz processor seems a bit outdated. In fact, one feels a bit disappointed after all the promises offered by Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Nokia (NYSE:NOK). However, we cannot deny the cheap price with all the features it offers.
