Following the mid-level success of Lumia phones with Nokia’s platform, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has taken the matter in its own hands to stand nose to nose with IOS and Android phones. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) released Lumia 535 last month from its platform with software updates and beefed up specifications, along with the same small end price, making it one of the most interesting smartphones on the market.
Now Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is aiming to release its successor called Lumia 1020, which will boast a 41MP rear camera. That’s really going to raise pulses all around. Taobo, a Chinese auction site released some snapshots of Lumia 1020 also known as McLaren, but the photos were taken down as soon as word got out in the media. News is that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is keeping it hush because it is still in the developmental stages and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) will take its time with it.
This phone is the one Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) may have been insinuating about all this time: A phone that was going to make iPhone sweat. The pictures released online were of the phone’s prototypes. The camera was a big black circular 41MP while the whole design is Aluminum made. The phone exudes richness when it comes to design and though we couldn’t really get the proper measurement of the screen, it looks quite big.
The main camera is a bit similar to Nokia Lumia 1020 which had both Xeon and flash support. The phone came into development before Nokia was disbanded by Microsoft. The smartphone will reportedly feature Kinetic Connect, which is a gesture based feature we see in Xbox consoles. This feature in Lumia 1020 will be called 3D Touch where the user will be able to browse the phone with gestures over the screen. The phone will reportedly boast 32GB internal memory, 2GB RAM in a quadcore CPU.
The rear camera will be 41MP with added features for pro-photography enthusiasts. There is no clear news regarding the phone’s release but it is believed that it will release next year Late January. Windows 10 is about to be released by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) and the possibility is that it might debut on the smartphone. Following Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Lumia 1020’s release, it is expected that Lumia phones will be taken more seriously in the market.
The ability of these phones to connect with the youth and at the same time offer features that are equal to high end phones, if not better, will make the Lumia series a serious contender to become the top smartphone in the market. We are not quite sure whether Windows 10 will be successful in equaling the performance of IOS or Android but we can certainly say that it will be improved. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) taking control of the Lumia series means that Lumia phones are about to mature up. It won’t be long before Lumia phones and other high end competitors will be fighting for the top position on the market.
