Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) opens its gates for cloud sourcing

115

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has a reputation of attracting criticism whenever it gets into an inter-operability deal with another company. Usually it is criticized for being self centered and relying more on taking rather than on giving. There are numerous cases in which Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) was part of interoperability deals but was reluctant to be more open when it came to ‘open sourcing. Times are changing now and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is embracing open sourcing, like the rest of the computing companies, although open sourcing isn’t related to good interoperability in any way.

Now, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) has dedicated a whole subsidiary called Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) Open Technologies for open sourcing. With the passage of time, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) has become liberal about open sourcing. Enterprise open sourcing has changed the trend and almost all companies, which were a bit conservative about the topic, are now opening up and embracing open sourcing.Analysts observed that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) opened its gates for full time open sourcing and will be cloud sourcing some of its major creations to other computing companies.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) will start with the.NET server and later on introduce Visual Studio Integrated Developer Environment: tools which programmers employ for designing codes, editing etc.Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is adamant on open sourcing its .NET platform so that developers can equip it for making apps for Linux, Apple and other mobile systems. We can’t argue whether Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has been wise in making such a drastic shift but it’s being commended in the market by other computing firms.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is emphasizing more on itsmobile space. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s main priority is to get the .NET code spread through the whole mobile population. Java will be taking a hit by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s move, because of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s brand stature in the market. The reputation Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has carved over the years will eclipse Java’s worth in the market and in the computing industry.

The corporate Vice President of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) said that developers these days need tools that can reach out to various platforms. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s visuals studio and .NET will enable developers to come up with solutions for the usual problems faced in the development and management of applications. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s eventual objective is that every developer on the market should be equipped with .NET and visual studio.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s open sourcing will be available to students, web developers, commercial developers and even hobbyists. We can’t really say if Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) actually shed its image of being a company that is unreasonable when it comes to interoperability as extensibility can’t be associated with interoperability but at least it’s a step along positive lines. Open sourcing will help the young developers that are ushering into the market with exciting ideas.

If nothing, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) will at least be doing them a favor by providing them with the necessary tools to make the best apps.
