Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) appears to have been developing a new Lumia device- Pictures Leaked

163

According to the latest news, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is developing its new Lumia device. Rumors have it that the device has a bumper camera with the size of a 41 mega pixel camera of Lumia 1020. The pictures of a Nokia phone have been leaked on a Chinese auction website, with the name Nokia RM-1052 on it. The phone is said to have a 5 inch display of 1080picels with a RAM of 2GB. Moreover, the phone will run on Windows 8.1. The prominent feature of this phone is the aluminum camera bump, which makes the rear of the phone noticeable.

There is a possibility of this device being a fake, as the chances of it being a simple prototype of Nokia are quite high. The phone has the prototype text of Nokia on its back, and the body also looks unfinished. Although the device is made of Aluminum, there is a plastic strip at the bottom of the phone. This plastic strip looks odd on the aluminum body, but then again, it could have been added to simply improve the radio signal reception in the phone. Nokia uses a plastic strip on its basic handsets, which is quite similar to the one being used on the new phone. The company, in the past, has also launched phones with a mix body of aluminum and polycarbonate, and hence, there is a slight chance that the leaked photos actually belong to the company.

The mysterious pictures could also belong to the Nokia McLaren set, which was supposed to have been launched in the market. The phone has some on-screen buttons to control the software; this feature on the phone also strengthens the assumption that the phone is actually Nokia McLaren, for McLaren was supposed to have floating gestures, with no requirement on the part of the users to physically use the screen and display.

It is important to mention here that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is still trying with its 3D technology. The company, however, in the earlier part of the year abandoned its plans to release McLaren in the market.

News had it that McLaren would be the successor of Lumia 1020, for both them were rumored to be equipped with a similar and equally powerful rear camera. However, nothing can be said with certainty, for the pixels of camera cannot be determined by looking at the leaked picture. The lens of the camera does not have a shutter. Moreover, instead of having a xenon flash, the device has an LED flash.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has not commented on the picture as of yet.

The stocks of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), on the last trading day of November 30, 2014, started at a price of $47.95 and closed at a price of $47.81, after hitting the highest price of $48.19. The company has a market capitalization of $394.09 billion with a P/E (price to earnings) ratio of 18.73.
