Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Aims to Rejuvenate the Lumia Line With 535

Windows powered phones have been in the market for quite some time, yet they haven’t been able to make a large impact, as compared to the Android and IOS phones. Released through the platform of Nokia, Microsoft’s Lumia phones are popular in the market for their low prices and association with the youth but somehow they haven’t converted that leverage into revenue. The now Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is about to release Lumia 535 without Nokia’s platform.

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) will now be in charge of the specifications and software of the phone, due to which analysts are expecting major updates in the Lumia series. Lumia 535 will be the successor to Lumia’s budget phones 520 and 530. Nokia Lumia 530 came out in 2013 but despite having reasonably good specifications, the phone couldn’t really do good business because it was put up against high end phones of Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930), Google and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL).

Lumia 535 is supposed to turn the competition or at least spice it up because it’s riding on high specifications and a comparatively lower price. Microsoft’s Lumia 535 will be laced with Windows 8.1 Lumia Denim, display of 5 inch display 960X540, 1.2 GHZ Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200, both rear and front camera will be 5MP and memory will be 8GB internal along with 15GB OneDrive plus MicroSD support up to 128 GB.

There will be voice and Skype integration; for those who are addicted to seamless video calling, Lumia 535 will strike their fancy. The phone will have XBOX connectivity so you can enjoy video gaming with a powerful sub-10k processor. All Lumia phones have Xbox connectivity but the processor gives Lumia 535 a definite edge. Lumia 535 will come with the latest Office suit which is the most appreciated software made by Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) for office use.

So those who’d like to make or view their office presentations, this phone is certainly for them. The new software will boost the phone’s speed and make up for the complaints regarding Windows phone being sluggish. Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is aiming to stir the market with Lumia 535. The price is ridiculously low and the specifications are better than many high end phones on the market. Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) being fully onboard with the phone, the specifications were bound to get better.

There is just one obvious hurdle. The market is dominated by high end phones coming from Google, Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930) and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL). Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) will have to devise an iron clad strategy to survive. Microsoft’s aim wouldn’t be just survival, but to strike a chord with the tech heads on the market. Normally Lumia phones aren’t considered efficient when it comes to technology but Lumia 535 is aiming to change that reputation by beefing up the specifications.

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is personally handling business this time and it looks quite serious. Only time will tell if Lumia 535 turns out to be just a budget phone or a phone that’ll rise up to the dominion of the iPhones.
