Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Develops a New Spoon to Conquer Shaky Hands
The American multinational internet giant Google.com (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has came up with another out of the box idea. The company will now spend its money and brain power on a humble spoon just before the holidays. These will not like an ordinary household spoon. These spoons will be used aid people suffering from shaky hands or Parkinson’s disease and allow them to take their meals without spilling all over them.
The spoon has a series of high end technology built inside and it will make use of hundreds of different types of algorithm to figure out a person’s pattern for tremors and adjust accordingly while they can eat nicely. At its initial stages these Liftware spoons can reduce the effects the shakiness by almost 76%. Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) spoke person Katelin Jabbari said that Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is making efforts to enhance lives of people and practice these equipments for a better understanding and perhaps cure for diseases later on.
Many other devices like rocker knives, heavy utensils, etc have been introduced in the market to deal with shaky hands but this idea never came up in anyone’s mind until yet. Moreover, Dr. Jill Ostrem a neurologist at UC San Francisco Medical Center commented that the idea is completely different and unique. She also stated that she has to deal with patients with same complaint and they cannot eat their food without any help but this breakthrough may not cure the disease but it definitely allow patients to eat themselves.
Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) started this project after they bought a small company funded by the National Institute of Health called Lift Labs but the invention of this spoon was not Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) intention at all. There are more than 10 million people from suffering shaky hands due to Parkinson’s disease, and of these people is (Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) co-founder) Sergy Brin’s mother. Brin told us that he has also got a high chance of developing the Parkinson’s disease and has donated about $50 million for a research going on for the cure of this disease.

He added that with Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) financial support he come be as creative as possible and work for the cure of this disease. Lift Labs’ team is working on contact lenses that can measure glucose levels form tears in the eyes, at a small division of Google; the Google(x) Life Sciences.
He said that developing a device which could help millions is a great achievement for anyone. Moreover, a 66 year old female suffering from this disease for the past 10 years commented that eating without this spoon used to be a real challenge and was quite embarrassing for her, but now she can eat her food without any help. Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Liftware spoon was released at a starting price of $259.
