Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) working behind curtains on their autonomous car project

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) for the past half a decade had been lobbying around in the U.S for autonomous cars: cars that need no driver. The idea was less fuel consumption and less accidents and the software used for this technology is called the Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Chauffeur. Recently Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) announced a car that had no steering wheel or pads. Apparently Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) doesn’t want to alarm the public about the whole project, and for some reason are keeping people away from snapping pictures or any form of publicity.

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) might be aiming for the future of auto technology but there’s another side to the story. There are auto analysts, seasoned in this business who claim that with autonomous cars, or for that matter ‘automatic’ cars will put them out of business and make their craft go obscure in the history. The concern is genuine. But think of the benefits, the driverless car would mostly end the individual ownership of the car. The industry which is suffering can be boosted by the latest miracles of science and technology.

There have been reservations against this technology, that the car will be dangerous with snow covered roads or in a flush heavy rain. Other reservations include that it will result in more consumption of fuel. However we believe that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) can overcome such limitations with time as they don’t have to deliver the finished product right now. Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is one bold car manufacturer but it hasn’t really been able to absorb the idea of a 100 percent automatic car and they will be announcing it 90 percent automatic car soon as well.

GM as well would be launching a Cadillac which can take over on highways, expected in 2016. As for Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s hundred percent cars, they are still working on it with nobody inside the car, there should have been passengers inside to begin with to make the test more authentic. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has had no apparent problem with the prototype. Analysts suggest that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) should not obsess over a 100 percent robotic car however, others believe that it would be an extremely eco-friendly move to introduce vehicles which are shared as an average car is only used one hour per day and rests idle the other 23 hours.

This is an immense waste of resources which should be put to good use. Companies have already worked on this concept before and ridesharing firms like Uber and Lyft are quite popular in the market.  Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s venture into the auto sector has been a revolutionizing step so far. Till now people only dreamed about a robotic car, fully functional with no glitches. Other auto makers talked about it, discussed over the possibility in conferences but nobody was quite sure about its future. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has proved that not only robotic cars have a future; it is the future of the auto industry in itself.
