Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) Will Make Instant Articles Available To All Publishers
Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has announce that it will open up Instant Articles so that it is available to any publisher who wishes to use the platform.
The social network firm originally launched Instant Articles in May 2015. However, only a few publishers had access to the platform as well as the tools necessary to take advantage of what Instant Articles had to offer. The platform was Facebook’s plan to serve news content to users so that it can prolong their time on the social network.
The company will unlock the platform making it accessible to all publishers during its F8 developer conference that will be held on April 12. Facebook claims that the Instant Articles platform will load articles faster, making it more appealing to users as the place to go for news. There are a few reasons why the platform is attractive to publishers. Perhaps the most important is the fact that Facebook has a huge following, meaning the content from publishers will receive more views.
Another attractive factor is the fact that Facebook made the platform in such a way that formatted content from the publishers will directly appear onto News Feeds. The project had initially brought up some controversy over how the revenues from Instant Articles would be shared between the company and the publishers.
During the launch of the project, Facebook had announced that it had two options of collecting revenue. It could either monetize the audience network or sell ads in the articles. The company also revealed that publishers can track the traffic and data from their articles using analytic tools such as comScore among others.

In a recent announcement, Facebook’s product manager Josh Roberts stated that journalists and media houses are a vital part of Facebook and the company is focused on delivering products that will offer the best to both readers and publishers. He further added that the platform will allow full control to the publishers, meaning they can control ads, data and more importantly, the stories that are published.
