According to an announcement by BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY), all BlackBerry users can download their new BlackBerry 10 premium without spending a buck for 25 days; this time period starts from December 1st and end at December 25th, 2013. Users will get different items on a daily basis that will only be available for a day, meaning 24 hours. These offers will be different for different models of BlackBerry phone, but will only be valid for those using BlackBerry 10.
According to Times of India’s report, BlackBerry is joining forces with Indian local cell phone market leaders, Micromax, Zen and Spice; the goal of this joint venture is to have BlackBerry or BBM messaging application installed by default in handsets by all three manufacturers. This will allow the users of these three brands to access BBM without spending any money on downloading the app. On Micromax’s Canvas Turbo Micromax already has BBM and now its upcoming Canvas will also allow its users to enjoy the service.
However, a few analysts in the tech industry believe that BlackBerry is a bit late in offering this service and might lose out to messaging apps like Whatsapp and WeChat who are already enjoying a great market share.
There is quite a possibility that BlackBerry’s BBM might have its fare share of buyers; the app is quite famous and is being widely used by many consumers.
Shares of BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) dove down by -0.78% and ended at a value of $6.33.
