Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad Mini 4: All We Know for Now

iPads aren’t faring well at the market these days and when it comes to the iPad mini-series, they’re already a neglected bunch. That’s because iPad miniseries doesn’t have that high end specifications that are endowed to the usual iPads. On one hand, iPad Air has been upgraded in terms on structure and specifications; it’s thinner and faster now. As far as iPad mini 4 is concerned, there isn’t much we can talk about or appreciate. In fact we’re forced to say that there was no need to make one, although Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) will disagree because of low iPad mini 2 sales.

iPad mini 4 is being billed as ‘the one’ out of the miniseries which customers were looking for all this time. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s decision was driven by the fact that iPad mini 2 and 3 didn’t account for much revenue; iPad miniseries makes up for less than 5 percent of the total revenue made by the iPad series. So it is clear why Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) isn’t eager to give heavy specifications to iPad mini tablets. iPad miniseries has lower-than-corporate-gross margins, which is the main reason behind Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s reluctance to endow iPad miniseries with high end specifications.

iPad mini 4 will come with an A8X processor similar to iPad air 2. This shows that the speed potential of the processor would be better than the previous iPads in the miniseries. The design will be similar to the design of iPad Air. That means it’ll be thinner and will weigh less comparatively. So that’s good news for those who’ve been constant customers of the miniseries. There have been complaints in the past regarding the display of the iPad miniseries.

Many critics and users have complained about the tablet’s mediocre display that gets washed out in sun light. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) hasn’t addressed that publicly but let’s hope it has covered that up in iPad mini 4. It’s not a secret that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is concerned about iPad’s sales, in the sense that it hasn’t been making much or let’s just say it has been making sales below the consensus. And this has been going on for a couple of years now.

Nothing has been helping, not even the new releases or the upgrades or even the atrocious new colors. Many critics think iPads are on the verge of extinction but Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) isn’t letting go so easily. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has promised to push to the boundary with iPad Air Plus and iPad mini 4. There can’t be no assurances given but we can certainly say that iPad mini 4 will have much to offer, or at least more than what its predecessors have offered.

It all depends how well it strikes with the customers and what market strategy Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) employs for it. One thing is for certain that iPad mini 4 is quite integral to the iPad series right now and can help in the rejuvenation of the series, which is if there is going to be any rejuvenation at all.
