Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) finally bringing iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to China … or not?

The chaos that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) had to go through after its so-called breach made it tough for the company to launch its iPhone 6 and 6 Plus afterwards. However, customers accepted the tech giant’s explanations and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) witnessed a great launch. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) sold more than around 10 million units of its iPhone in the first week only. This was 9 million more than the iPhone 5s and 5c sales on their first weekend. However Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has not been able to launch iPhones 6s in China so far – a market that could do wonders for its sales.

The tech giant sold around 2.75 million of the 5s and 5c phones in China post their launch. Considering this, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) had around 60% growth for the year.

According to a few rumors circulating in the market it was believed that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) may not launch the new phones in China till the start of next year. However, it appears the rumors may be wrong after all and the company may get to launch the phones much earlier than expected.

TechWeb, the Chinese tech blog showed a screenshot that suggest that phones are likely to be launched in the country on the 10th of October – this is not even two weeks away. The screenshot that was leaked shows Chinese employees preparing for the launch in Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) store.

It cannot be said for sure whether the images are authentic or not. Images surfaced a couple of days after Miao Wei, the Chinese minister of Industry, stated that both the iPhones were in the final stage of their approval process. The Chinese press has also stated that the new phones are to be launched on October 10th

Tim Cook, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) CEO that the company was looking forward to bringing both the phones to Chinese customers. He also stated that the customers will have high-speed networks with China Telecom, China Mobile and also China Unicom, giving them one “incredible experience”.

It was revealed on Monday that the tech giant had its hands on the final license that was required to begin the iPhone 6 China sales. Both iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were launched in several countries on the 19th of this month followed by another launch on the 26th that added more countries to the list.

It is expected that the price of iPhone 6 in China will be double the price of iPhone 5s. However, mandates by Chinese authorities have asked to decrease the amount for a brand new mobile by $131. It has also been stated that the lower subsidies are going to increase the amount that a consumer will pay in China by $97 for a contract of two years.

Rumors suggest that smuggled iPhone 6 phones are available through the black market for about $1900 while $3250 for iPhone 6 Plus in China. Different colors have premiums of $500 – which include gold and space grey.

The leaked screenshot has caused a buzz in the market that wants to get more information on the time of the launch. Let’s see how Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) will react to this screenshot in the near future.
