Mark Gurman from 9to5 Mac revealed that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will most likely launch its iPad Air 3 in mid-March.
The new iPad Air 3 will be the first update for the iPad Air since 2004. It will also be a significant introduction following the introduction of the iPad Pro and iPad Mini late last year. The iPad 3 will, therefore, complete the set for the updated iPad line.
There is speculation that the new 9.7 inch iPad will feature the latest processor, new stereo speakers, a Touch ID interface, primary camera flash, and support for Apple Pencil. All these are features spotted in the iPhone 6S. It is also expected to have some interesting design changes.
There is also the likelihood that Apple will launch a few other devices during the launch of the iPad Air 3. Some of the devices include a new Apple Watch and a 4 inch iPhone 5Se. The latter has been highly demanded by Apple customers who prefer a smaller iPhone 6 with the same dimensions as the iPhone 5S but with the M9 chip and the A9 processor. It will also have an updated iOS that offers Apple Pay support among other additions.
The new iPhone will appeal to customers who prefer the comfort of a smaller iPhone. Rumors about a new Apple Watch are also flying around. However, not much has been revealed about the wearable device. Nonetheless, the new Apple Watch is expected to have GPS and a few hardware tweaks. The company is also expected to reveal new band materials and new colors.
