As per numerous job postings on Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN)’s website, the company is speculated to be hiring for its private label, Amazon Fashion. In February, the e-tailer has posted nine job openings within its Amazon Fashion Private Label. These positions are mostly located in Seattle, the place of Amazon’s headquarters. Among those positions are head of product quality and fit, a fit specialist, and associate merchandiser.
The first position located at Seattle will make sure all Amazon fashion products impress the company’s customers for product quality as well as fit. The job listings are part of Amazon’s efforts to gain access to the fashion arena. The company is presently, recruiting folk with fashion industry experience to come aboard its soon to be launched private label.
With Amazon moving from retailing to manufacturing, people may be surprised. However, the e-commerce giant is of the opinion that it’s a logical culmination of the business.
In July 2015, the e-tailer roped in famous London model Suki Waterhouse for its initial fashion campaign. In the same month, Amazon established 46,000-square-foot photography outlet in London. The purpose was to develop advertisements for the many fashion brands available on Amazon’s European sites. Amazon had unveiled a similar studio in the posh Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, NY in 2013.
Currently, Chiara Ferragni, an Italian model, has been selected by Amazon Fashion to be the latter’s European ambassador as well as the face of the company’s spring-summer fashion campaign this year. Amazon’s latest ad campaign had Cass Bird as the photographer and Julia Sarr-Jamois responsible for styling. The campaign was created in Amazon’s London studio. Ferragni took on six different looks that included tailored mini dresses as well as an embellished jumpsuit.
In October 2015, vice president of clothing at Amazon Fashion, Jeff Yurcisin, said that the company may begin to sell clothing as there’re still brands shoppers desire that are not available for sale via Amazon. He added that certain companies are not partnering with Amazon. However, Amazon’s customers still desire similar products.
Many are curious to know the kind of discounts that would be offered when Amazon’s clothing line is open for business.
